St. Mary's Public Buildings In Good Sanitary Condition, The following letter speaks for itself: New Orleans, Oct. 18, 1921 Hon. Charles Pecot, Sheriff, Franklin, La.

My Dear Mr. Pecot: While in Franklin on the 14th instant inspectors for this Board made an inspection of the Court House and Parish Jail. The report, which I have before me, shows the general conditions of both buildings to be good. It is not often that we have such good reports of public buildings and I wish to assure you that it is most gratifying and that we are very appreciative of your cooperation. Frere-Berwick. One of the prettiest weddings of the season was that of Miss Maude Berwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D.

Berwick of Bayou Sale, and Dr. J. Marsh Frere, eon of Mrs. T. Frere, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St.

Mary's Episcopal Church. Rev. Mr. Vail of New Orleans, performed the very impressive ceremony. The bride's only attendant was her little sister, Mies Elva Dora, who very grac-fully bore the ring.

The groom was attended by his only brother, Mr Foster Frere. The church was very tastefully decorated in autumn flowers and ferns. The wedding march was played by Mrs. S. Barnett.

The happy oouple were showered with good wishes and beautiful presents from young and old alike, The bride is one of St. Mary's fairest daughters, and a member of one of its oldest families. The groom, who is now located at Chattanooga, la one of Franklin's best and most worthy young men. Dr. and Mrs.

Frere left on the afternoon train for New Qrleabs from whence they will ieaye for their home in Chattanooga. The Banner tenders to them its lest congra'ulatlons, and wishes them a happy and useful life of oontentment and prosperity. We learn with regret of the news of the death of little BettiTucker, aged one year, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Tucker, which occurred on Wednesday evening at Misi.

bereaved father and heart-broken mother have the Banner's fullest sympathy iu their great loss and sorrow. The colored public schools in St. Mary Parish will open on January 2nd for a term gf six months. Celebration at St. John's Academy.

On Sunday, Oct. 23rd. St. John's Academy will be the scene of joyous festivities. The citizens of Franklin have joined efforts to make this Jubilee celebration a banner day at St.

John's. They have seized with eager hearts this golden opportunity to pay their debt of loyalty and appreciation to th? Sisters for the great and noble work that they are doing in this section in behalf of Catholic education. The celebration will begin with Pontifical High Mass in the church at 10 A. celebrated by iiis Lordship, Right Rev. Jules B.
